The serpent, or snake, is one of the oldest and most widespread mythological symbols. Before it was demonized by patriarchal religions the snake was a revered symbol representing fertility or a creative life force.

As snakes shed their skin through sloughing, they are symbols of rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing.

This altar was inspired by my research into Neolithic cultures and the history of the Goddess, and my desire to rebirth our ancient Goddess lineage and bring her back to life in the modern era.
